A chilly Saturday morning breakfast at Bemus Point Inn with the whole family. Watching the Bills at the Tap House with 20 craft beers on tap and a room full of people who feel exactly the same way about Sunday afternoons. A perfect fall trip from Erie, PA starts here. 🍂
Forty five minutes down I-90. Chautauqua Lake in late October. A little lakeside village called Bemus Point that most people from Erie have driven past and never stopped in.
Grab a coffee at Lake Life Café before you head out. Hike the trails at Long Point State Park with the lake and the last of the fall color around you. Wrap up in your favorite layer and take the drive through the hills. Grab wings and a cold one at the Green Door Tavern. End the afternoon with a craft beer and bonfire at the Bemus Point Golf Club & Tap House.
Crisp air. Quiet village. No crowds. That is Bemus Point in late October. And it is 45 minutes from your front door.

This is the Lawson Center. And it is so much more than a boat museum. ⚓
Located right on Chautauqua Lake at 73 Lakeside Drive in Bemus Point, the Lawson Center is a nationally recognized small craft boat museum with a collection of antique wooden boats, outboard motors, and photo displays dating back to the 1800s. The kind of place that makes you stop and realize how much history this lake actually holds.
But it is also one of the most unique event spaces on Chautauqua Lake. Waterfront views. A stunning interior.
Available for private parties, functions, and gatherings of all kinds. If you are planning an event and you want something that feels genuinely special and specific to this community, the Lawson Center deserves a look.
