About The Lawson Center

The Lawson Center is a historic building in Bemus Point that serves as home to a boating and water sports museum, celebrating the long relationship between the community and Chautauqua Lake. Inside, you’ll find antique boats and motors, photo exhibits, and a Captain Kid’s Corner with activities designed for younger visitors, making it a worthwhile stop for the whole family.

The building is also available as a venue for weddings, parties, and private functions, offering a setting with genuine local character and history.

The museum is open seasonally. In June, hours are Saturdays from 10am to 5pm and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. In July and August, Wednesday hours from noon to 5pm are added to the schedule.
