Village of Bemus Point

About Village of Bemus Point

Bemus Point is a small lakefront village on the shores of Chautauqua Lake in Western New York, sitting across the water from the world-famous Chautauqua Institution. The village is walkable and welcoming, with locally owned shops, restaurants, and a waterfront that draws visitors and seasonal residents back year after year.

Spend a morning browsing the village shops, grab lunch at one of the locally owned restaurants, and make your way down to the lake to take in the view. Ride the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry, one of the oldest operating ferries in the region, for a few minutes on the water and a look at the lake from a different angle. In the evening, stay for the sunset over Bemus Bay.

Whether you’re visiting for a day or staying for the season, Bemus Point has the kind of easy, unhurried pace that’s hard to find and easy to come back to.
